The Mavs needed two overtimes to emerge victorious in Chicago on Tuesday night. Dallas won, 132-129, over the Bulls to run their winning streak to four games. The Mavericks will go for a perfect 4-0 trip with a victory on Wednesday. Monta Ellis scored a season-high 38 points in the double-overtime thriller. Ellis, who shot 16-of-35 from the floor, sent the game to overtime with three free throws and essentially won it with a 3-pointer in the second overtime to help the Mavs win their fourth straight. We played good as a team, said Ellis. I was just taking what the defense was giving me all night. Some went in, some didnt but they went in when they needed to. Chandler Parsons deposited 24 points and Dirk Nowitzki netted 22 on 8-of-22 shooting in the win to go with 10 assists. Devin Harris added 20 points off the bench. J.J. Barea chipped in 13 points in just about 13 minutes and Tyson Chandler grabbed 14 rebounds. Head coach Rick Carlisle did a good job managing minutes despite 10 extra minutes of action. Harrison walked to lead off the inning and moved to second on a fly to centre before streaking home on a sharp single up the middle by McCutchen. Harrison is 13 for 37 (.351) since being moved into the leadoff spot earlier this month. Washington loaded the bases in the eighth off Tony Watson, but the left-hander retired Scott Hairston on a fly to shallow left field to get out of it and Melancon survived despite putting two runners on with McCutchens sliding grab on a sinking liner by Anthony Rendon sealing it.
