Numerous outlets have reported that the deal is close to being finalized. Boston, which has also acquired Rick Porcello and Justin Masterson, had been engaged in discussions with Lester before the left-hander agreed to a 6-year, $155 million deal with the Chicago Cubs late Tuesday evening. Miley, meanwhile, struggled last season, going 8-12 with a 4.34 ERA in 33 starts. The former No. 1 pick, though, was a 16-game winner in 2012 and is 38-35 lifetime with a 3.79 ERA over 106 games (102 starts) for the D-backs. The 28-year-old hurler finished second in NL Rookie of the Year voting in 2012 and was also an All-Star that season for Arizona. De La Rosa was 4-8 a year ago for Boston with a 4.43 ERA in 19 games, including a career-high 18 starts. Webster started 11 games for the Red Sox last season and was 5-3 with a 5.03 ERA.
