Its been a dream start to the season for Marseille, which unexpectedly surged to the top of the Ligue 1 table thanks to an impressive nine-match winning streak. That streak came to an end last time out following a 1-0 loss to Lyon. But the club got off to a fast start on Sunday courtesy of a goal from Nicolas NKoulou after just 10 minutes. Baptiste Guillaume equalized for Lens in the 31st minute, but Florian Thauvin scored on the hour mark to give the lead back to Marseille. Despite playing with the lead, things got worse for the hosts when Jacques Alaixys Romao was shown a second yellow card and sent off with 14 minutes to play. Marseille was able to hold off the visiting side over the final minutes to claim an important three points and maintain its place atop Ligue 1 with 28 points. Lens remains in 17th place in the table with 11 points through 12 games. Also in Ligue 1 on Sunday, Diego Rolans second-half goal proved to be the difference as Bordeaux claimed three points with a 2-1 win over Toulouse at the Stade Chaban-Delmas. After a scoreless first half, Marc Planus struck first for Bordeaux with a goal in the 52nd minute and Rolan doubled the advantage 11 minutes later. Aleksandar Pesic pulled one back for Toulouse five minutes later, but they could never find the equalizer and Bordeaux took the points to climb to fourth place in Ligue 1 with 21 points.
